As part of our continuous commitment to providing compassionate healthcare and humanitarian aid, A Hand to Humanity Association carried out a special outreach visit to Œuvre Sociale Charité Humaine, an orphanage caring for vulnerable children.
Medical Outreach
Our team conducted free general health consultations for 22 children, including those from the orphanage and nearby community. Focus was placed on critical health screenings, including:
- Malaria testing – 6 children tested positive and received immediate attention.
- HIV and Hepatitis B & C testing – All children tested negative.
This health intervention marked the first-ever structured medical consultation for many of the children in the orphanage.
Donation of Medications
In a pioneering effort, we provided essential medications to launch a functional mini-pharmacy within the orphanage. Items donated included:
- Antimalarial and antityphoid medications
- Wound care supplies
- Remedies for colds and digestive issues
These resources were officially handed over to Mme. Sikini Marie Louise, founder and caretaker of the orphanage.
Basic Necessities Support
Beyond healthcare, our team donated key everyday items to improve the children’s living conditions:
- Food supplies
- Clothing and shoes
- Other household essentials
???? Observations
The visit was a powerful and uplifting experience. It brought not only practical support but also renewed hope to Mme. Sikini and the children. However, ongoing needs remain. The children require regular medical follow-ups and improved nutrition, as many showed signs of malnourishment.
