On August 3, 2024, A Hand to Humanity hosted a seminar titled “Engaging Parents and Children in the Fight Against Drug Abuse” at the Etoug-Ebe Center in Yaoundé. The event, chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police Fritz Wolle from the Directorate General for National Security (DGSN), highlighted the crucial role families play in preventing substance abuse. Superintendent Wolle provided strategies for parents and children to work together in creating a drug-free environment. The seminar, held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, was well-attended and inspired participants to take proactive steps in safeguarding their communities.
The rehabilitation center managed by A Hand to Humanity remains a beacon of hope, with ten active cases, including five new admissions, and five successful completions in August. However, the center faces financial challenges due to two patients leaving without fulfilling their financial obligations. The organization is seeking community support through donations, sponsorships, or partnerships to sustain its essential services. A Hand to Humanity remains committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by substance abuse, driven by the belief that collective action can build a brighter, drug-free future for the community
